Last year, just before Earth Day, we announced our partnership with veritree. This data-driven, restorative platform connects nature-based solutions with mission-driven companies ready to lead the restorative economy. We’re excited to share an update on how our partnership has positively impacted the environment.
As a company that deals in print marketing materials, we do our best to reduce carbon emissions and protect our forests for future generations. veritree enables us to make more informed decisions regarding these reforestation efforts and verify the positive impact they have created. When we began our partnership last year, we committed to planting two verified trees for every tree PebblePost uses in our services.
The impact PebblePost and veritree have collectively driven
- Planted 32,274 total trees, the equivalent of planting 1,005 studio apartments full of trees
- 5,981 tonnes of CO2 to be sequestered, the equivalent of removing 1,300 cars from the road for one year
- Reforested 5.6 hectares, which provides 48.548 work days to local tree planters
You can track the progress of PebblePost and veritree’s reforestation efforts here.
Other things we do to conserve environmental resources
But wait, there’s more!
Programmatic Direct Mail is already an extremely efficient advertising channel, requiring only one-tenth the amount of mail compared to traditional direct mail to achieve the same return on ad spend. In addition to our reforestation efforts, PebblePost’s “sustainable-by-design” solution offers eco-friendly formats and inks, plus Forestry Stewardship Council® (FSC) certified paper from responsibly managed forests. We also partner with a printer network committed to using 100% renewable energy sources, deliver PDM on high-quality mail pieces containing at least 50% pre-and post-consumer recycled material, prevent overruns, and reduce the amount of waste product generated throughout the printing process.
How your brand can help
Inspired to help save the planet this Earth Day? Here are a few ways to start:
- Sourcing environmentally sustainable materials, such as paper, which is 100% recyclable and will biodegrade on its own no matter what, and ink with a water-based coating
- Ensuring direct mail vendors adhere to and partner with businesses that meet print sustainability certifications such as FSC Chain-of-Custody (COC) Certification and best practices as best they can
- Optimizing PDM campaigns toward decision-ready consumers, as engaging these audiences with compelling offers displayed creatively, can cut the amount of marketing mail sent by up to 75%
- Considering a partnership with veritree to support tree-planting projects worldwide in an authentic, measurable way
PebblePost is committed to helping the planet on Earth Day and every day. Won’t you join us?
